Die Vins: Lale + Justus

Die Idee, die Vins aus Vinyl zu gestalten hatte ich erstmals im Okt. 2003.
Ich wollte eine kostengünstige Alternative zu meinen Porzellanpuppen anbieten.
Dafür waren einige Veränderungen notwendig. Ich musste zum Beispiel alle Gelenke umarbeiten,
denn Vinyl verhält sich in fast allen Bereichen vollkommen anders als Porzellan.
Um die 16 Vinylteile aus denen die Vins Körper bestehen fertigen zu lassen, brauchte ich eine Vinyl-Manufaktur,
denn für die Produktion waren große Maschinen und viel Erfahrung notwendig.
Die Vins waren eine große Herausforderung für alle Mitarbeiter der Firma, die mit etwas derartigem
bis dato nicht konfrontiert worden waren. Sie standen vor der fast unlösbaren Aufgabe
sehr filigrane und komplizierte Körperteile aus einer kleinen Öffnung der Kupferformen zu ziehen,
ohne das sich die Teile dabei verformen. Es hat fast ein Jahr gedauert und auf beiden Seiten reichlich
Nerven gekostet bis das geklappt hat.

The idea to make the Vins out of vinyl, I had first in Okt. 2003.
I wanted to offer an affordable alternative to my porcelain dolls. Therefore some changes were necessary.
I had to rework all the joints, for example, vinyl behaves in almost all areas completely different from porcelain.
For production of the 16 vinyl parts, from which the finished Vins body consists, I needed a vinyl-manufacture,
large machines and a lot of experience was necessary. The Vins were a big challenge for all employees
of the company, who had not been faced with something along these lines so far. They faced the almost
impossible task, to pull the very intricate and complicated parts of the body through a small opening
of the copper shapes, without deforming the parts. It took almost a year and tasted plenty of nerves
on both sides until it worked.

Inzwischen ist es so, dass dort eine Sonderschicht gefahren wird wenn ich einen Fertigungsauftrag gebe weil
die Vins so viel Aufmerksamkeit erfordern, dass dort zur gleichen Zeit nichts anderes produziert werden kann.
Die ersten Muster-Exemplare konnte ich Ende 2006 öffentlich vorstellen.
Es gibt zwei verschiedene Kopfmodelle; Justus / Lale und zwei verschiedene Hautfarben; porcelain / sunny.
Porcelain sieht farblich genauso aus wie meine Porzellane und sunny ist eher Sonnengebräunt.
In den vergangenen Jahren waren die Vins so etwas wie ein Geheimtipp und führten leider, ganz zu Unrecht,
so etwas wie ein Schattendasein. Das lag zum größten Teil daran, das ich kaum Zeit hatte mich um
sie zu kümmern. Genau genommen ist das immer noch so, denn ich habe reichlich mit meinen Arbeiten
aus Porzellan zu tun. Aber ich nehme mir jetzt einfach ab und zu auch Zeit für die Vins, denn sie haben es verdient.

Die kreativ begabten Menschen unter Ihnen haben auch die Möglichkeit,
eine unbemalte Vins Puppe zu bekommen. Ein komplett zusammengebauter Körper kostet 183,- €.
Bemalen Sie Ihre Lale oder Justus ganz nach Ihren Wünschen.
Augen und Perücke können Sie immer wieder austauschen und Ihren Vins nach Belieben umgestalten.

something like a shadow being. This was mostly because I had no time to care for them.
Strictly speaking, this still so, for I have plenty to do with my work in porcelain.
But I am taking now easy and also time for the Vins, because they deserve it.
